世のなか安穏あんのんなれ　仏法ぶっぽうひろまれ

May peace and tranquility prevail in the world, and may the Buddha's teaching spread!

仏の教えを論じる人は多いが　その要を教える人は少ない

There are many who discuss the Buddha's teaching, but few indeed who teach what is essential in it.

２月

煩悩ぼんのう具ぐ足そくのわれらは　生しょう死じの迷いをはなれることが難しい

It is extremely difficult for us, who are possessed of blind passions, to free ourselves from the delusion of birth0and0death.

３月

浄じょう土どの教えは凡ぼん夫ぶにも修めやすく往きやすい近道である

The teaching of the Pure Land is easy to practice for ordinary beings; it is the straight shortcut, easy to traverse.

４月

真なるものははなはだ少なく、偽なるものははなはだ多い

Those who are truthful are extremely few, and those who are untrue are extremely numerous.

５月

仏の国土は清く安らかな涅ね槃はんの世界である

Amida Buddha's Land is the pure and tranquil world of Nirvana.

６月

仏の智慧ちえをほめたたえ　その功く徳どくを人々に伝えよう

Let us praise Amida Buddha's wisdom, and share the infinite merit with others.

７月

仏の光明は無む明みょうの闇を破ってくださる智慧である

The light of Amida Buddha is the wisdom dispersing the darkness of our ignorance.

８月

如来は絶対平等の智慧であり　あらゆる衆しゅ生じょうを教え導く

The Tathagata is the wisdom of absolute equality itself, which guides all sentient beings.

９月

念仏者は無礙むげの一道なり

The Nembutsu is the single path free of hindrances.

10月

善人なおもて往おう性じょうとぐ　いわんや悪人をや

Even a good person can attain birth in the Pure Land, how much more easily an evil one!

11月

弥陀みだの本願信ずべし

Entrust yourself to Amida Buddha's Primal Vow.

12月

浄土にてかならずまちまいらせそうろうべし

I will surely await you in the Pure Land.
